Role Responsibilities

As a Livestock Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role within the broader Commercial portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the acquisition of livestock, ensuring alignment with Coles' integrated meat model. Key duties include:

  • Facilitating the procurement process to meet volume, timing, and quality specifications.
  • Collaborating with various livestock suppliers to cultivate and maintain strong relationships across different livestock categories.
  • Developing livestock programs that align with sales forecasts and customer needs.
  • Understanding market demand, pricing strategies, and production requirements for all livestock types.
  • Executing effective purchasing strategies to meet supply, specification, and pricing objectives.
  • Overseeing the procurement and relationship management of both existing and new livestock suppliers.

Candidate Profile

To thrive in this role, you will be an integral member of the Coles Commercial Meat team. Your expertise will be pivotal in enhancing our meat produce business. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in the livestock supply chain.
  • Strong relationship management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data interpretation and reporting.
  • Experience in project planning and execution.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills to navigate a dynamic work environment.
  • A valid driver's license.
