Clinical Haematology Advanced Trainee

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Clinical Haematology Advanced Trainee to join the team at ACT Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical management of haematology patients under the supervision of Haematologists.
- Assess and manage acute presentations on the haematology ward, in-patient care, diagnosis and management of patients in the haematology outpatient clinics, haematology consultations and clinical handover.
- Independently and safely perform marrow biopsies, central venous access device insertion and removal, lumbar puncture with intra-thecal therapy and thoraco-abdominocentesis where required.
- Progress in training in the haematology specialty, including participation in the relevant teaching program, timely completion of assessments and involvement in research.
- Participate in the supervision, training and professional development of junior medical staff.
- Contribute to clinical audit and participate in changes that improve quality and safety of patient care.
- Participate in the Haematology after-hours and on-call roster & in the general medical registrar and on-call roster after-hour rosters which entails evening shifts.
- Maintain currency in an Advanced Life Support Course to be attained within three months of commencement with annual refreshers.
- An Australian MBBS medical degree or equivalent.
- Completed the FRACP physicians written and clinical examination.
- Be registered or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
