Job Summary

Charterhouse Medical is seeking a highly skilled General Medicine Registrar/Advanced Trainee to join our team in Canberra. As a key member of our medical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and management of acute presentations to the emergency departments, in-patient care, and outpatient clinics.
  • Conducting daily Structured Interdisciplinary Bedside Rounds (SIBR) and facilitating discharge planning and patient flow.
  • Mentor and supervision of junior doctors, physician trainees, and resident medical officers in the unit.
  • Opportunity to supervise and perform a variety of ward-based procedures, including lumbar puncture, abdominal paracentesis, pleurocentesis, and joint aspirations.
  • Participating in the after-hours and on-call roster.

Requirements
  • General, Provisional, or limited registration with AHPRA or eligible to obtain.
  • IMGs that have completed at least the AMC MCQ (part 1) or completed both AMC 1 & 2 (clinical exam).
  • IMGs eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada, or Ireland).
  • IMGs assessed by RACP College as partially or substantially comparable.
