Role Overview

As a Senior Practitioner with Grand Pacific Health, you will be responsible for supporting the headspace Wollongong team in delivering efficient, effective, safe, and high-quality mental health services to young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Clinical Leadership Skills: Provide support as part of the clinical management team to improve health, social, vocational, and educational outcomes for young people.
  • Support Team Members: Serve as a key point of contact for team members, supporting the escalation of care pathways.
  • Clinical Practice: Work with young people to identify their support needs, goals, and develop collaborative care plans.
  • Service Development: Collaborate with the Service Manager, Clinical Lead, and external stakeholders to develop person-centred, recovery-focused, evidence-based services that achieve positive outcomes for young people and their families.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Minimum of two years post graduate experience in mental health service and hold full AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Psychologist, or Occupational Therapist (and eligible for mental health accreditation with OTA) or be a Social Worker holding an approved Social Work Qualification and be eligible for mental health accreditation with AASW.
  • Experience: Experience in assessment of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies.
  • Young People Focus: Experience working with young people and their families or carers in a family inclusive practice model.
  • Engagement Skills: Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems including the ability to effectively engage with young people and their family, friends or carers.
