Structural Design Drafter Role

Job Overview:

This senior structural design drafter position involves overseeing a diverse range of projects from initial concepts to commissioning within the mining industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing structural design projects for material handling facilities and non-process infrastructure;
  • Supporting the development of 3D models and producing 2D drawings using MicroStation;
  • Detail checking steel and concrete drawings;
  • Coordinating workshare between various offices and ensuring successful delivery of customer requirements;
  • Communicating effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders;

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A 2 or 3-year technical diploma with discipline-specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
  • 5-8 years of experience in structural design in the mining, energy, and/or infrastructure sector;
  • Prior experience working within medium to large projects within multidiscipline environments is essential;
  • Experience in concrete design including checking and working in 3D modeling workflows;
  • Extensive experience in Microstation and sound knowledge of 3D package Prosteel;
