The role of a Lead Structural Design Specialist involves overseeing the design and engineering of water and wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs, hydraulic structures, pump stations, and conveyance pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing design requirements and conducting site investigations to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective solutions for clients, utilizing expertise in structural engineering and project management.
  • Preparing detailed reports and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in civil (structural) engineering and at least 10 years' experience in water and wastewater treatment and/or conveyance design. Knowledge of safety protocols, constructability, and operational practices is essential, as well as proficiency in relevant Australian standards and WSAA codes.

A commitment to working safely within a company's HSEQ systems is required, along with strong problem-solving skills, collaboration across disciplines, and effective written and verbal communication. The ability to identify and mitigate project-related risks is also crucial.
