Laminex Australia is a leading manufacturer in the building materials industry, committed to innovation and excellence. Our Bathurst Plant is a key part of our operations, and we are seeking a seasoned Production Operations Director to join our team.
The Role:
As the Production Operations Director, you will oversee production operations at our Bathurst Plant, focusing on CTS and Componentry Systems. Your role will involve implementing Lean-based continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring processes are optimized for high-quality product manufacturing and timely delivery to customers.
You will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement by engaging shop floor personnel in sustainable actions that add value to the production process through effective time and resource utilization.
This role involves a 40-hour workweek, with flexibility and negotiability. The site plant operates Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4pm, with Friday used as an overtime day when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage production personnel to achieve agreed production outcomes through consultative management techniques.
- Implement and maintain processes and procedures ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all production activities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including production staff, suppliers, customers, and management.
- Monitor production progress and ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Contribute to employee evaluations, recruitment, and development to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
About You:
You are a dynamic and results-driven professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar Production Manager role. Your experience in manufacturing operations, particularly in the building materials industry, and your knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles will be essential to your success in this role.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3+ years of experience as a Production or Manufacturing Manager in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of ASW and BPCS systems (desirable).
- Experience in the building materials industry (desirable).
- Proven track record of implementing continuous improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of OH&S regulations and experience in implementing safety initiatives.
