Job Summary">

The Correctional Manager is responsible for overseeing the operational functions in a correctional centre, providing leadership and management for staff. This role involves managing staff workload, appraising performance, maintaining knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures, contributing to strategic direction development, managing static and dynamic security, ensuring security and effective management of offenders, and managing case and sentence management of offenders.

Key Responsibilities:">
  • Manage staff workload and work practices consistently with diversity and equal employment opportunities (EEO) policies.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the team's knowledge base and participate in strategic direction development.
  • Ensure the effective management and supervision of offenders, including managing static and dynamic security measures, such as surveillance equipment and infrastructure.
  • Assume responsibility for centre operations outside regular business hours.
  • Manage case and sentence management of offenders effectively.
