About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Care Services Coordinator to join our team at Churches of Christ, Children, Youth and Families in Hervey Bay. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, youth, and families.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality advice and complex support to children, young people, foster and kinship carers, families, and staff. Key duties include:

  • Planning, developing, facilitating, and evaluating educational/therapeutic programs to ensure compliance with legislation and frameworks.
  • Facilitating intake processes, assessing, and supporting individual needs, and referring to targeted services for ongoing support.
  • Creating comprehensive assessments and reports on carers and young people, and managing the care approval process.
  • Coordinating case management, maintaining detailed client records, and supporting joint case management processes.
  • Providing in-home and flexible support services, including after-hours and on-call support.
  • Building professional relationships and engaging with stakeholders and the community.
  • Advising, delivering training, and assisting with reporting requirements.
About You

To be suitable for this position, you will possess a qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, or equivalent, with over 5 years of relevant experience. You will also have knowledge of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks, including the Child Protection Act 1999. Additionally, you will have a sound understanding of child development and trauma theory for assessment and decision-making.

Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary package, including an estimated annual salary of $85,000 - $95,000 AUD, depending on experience, plus benefits such as:
