**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking a highly skilled Care Coordinator to join our team in Hervey Bay, QLD. As a Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing support services to children, young people, and their families.

**Salary and Benefits**

The successful candidate can expect an attractive salary package, including up to $18,549 p.a. of taxable income that can be packaged before tax, plus up to $15,900 p.a. on everyday expenses and up to $2,649 p.a. on meal/entertainment benefits. In addition, we offer a range of compelling benefits, including five weeks of annual leave and the ability to purchase more.

**Job Description**

In this role, you will utilise your previous skills and experience in the provision of care services to children, young people, and their families. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Recruiting, training, and assessing carers;
  • Delivering information sessions and pre-service training for prospective carers;
  • Negotiating family support plans and coordinating placement activities;
  • Providing assessment, crisis intervention, short-term intervention skills, and therapeutic approaches to support children, young people, carers, and families.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

To be suitable for this position, you will need:

  • A degree qualification in social work, psychology, social sciences, or a related discipline;
  • Minimum two years' experience in the provision of care services to children, young people, and their families in statutory care;
  • Demonstrated experience in providing training to carers and applying assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term intervention skills and therapeutic approaches;
  • Applied knowledge and understanding of child protection and out-of-home care frameworks.
