
Mental Health and Injury Specialist

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our team as a Mental Health and Injury Specialist. This role is critical in supporting individuals who have experienced mental injuries and helping them return to work.
The successful candidate will have experience in working with complex cases, particularly those involving mental health injuries. They will be able to develop and implement individualized strategies to expedite recovery and return to work.
This is a full-time position that can be based in either Parramatta or Newcastle, with the flexibility to work from home once fully trained.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide support to workers with mental injuries for up to 12 weeks and at periodic points during the life of the claim.
- Engage early with all stakeholders to identify barriers to recovery and return to work following lodgement of a mental injury claim.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and support individualized strategies based on best practice solutions to expedite recovery and return to work.
- Support the Claims Operations Team in gathering information efficiently and effectively to accept reasonable and necessary treatment in line with the clinical framework.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation through oversight of mental injury recovery and RTW outcome trends.
About You
- You will have demonstrated experience in a similar or clinical role, working in a fast-paced business environment.
- You will hold tertiary studies in Allied Health, such as Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy with a mental health background.
- You will have an excellent understanding of mental health injuries, with experience working in workers compensation and/or personal injury industries.
- You will possess strong complex case management capabilities, focusing on return to work, mental health, and medically complex cases.
- You will have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
