Payroll Compliance Specialist

This is a challenging opportunity for a meticulous payroll professional who excels in dynamic, transactional environments and is eager to play a pivotal role in payroll tax compliance, process optimization, and entity consolidation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the transition of payroll frequency from semimonthly to biweekly
- Collaborate on a project consolidating multiple entities into one unified structure
- Provide guidance to senior payroll staff on federal, state, and local payroll tax matters
- Prepare, review, and file payroll tax returns and documents, including wage and garnishment-related submissions
- Manage year-end payroll tax activities, including the setup and closure of tax accounts across jurisdictions
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant payroll tax regulations and deadlines
- Assist with audits and respond to tax-related inquiries or discrepancies
- Stay informed on payroll tax law changes and recommend appropriate updates to processes and systems
- Prior experience with Workday and/or ADP payroll systems
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, reporting, and compliance
- Experience supporting or managing multi-state payroll operations
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
