Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to proactively manage and assess a portfolio of disability claims against policy/plan design and definitions, ensuring service level agreements are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively manage high complexity disability claims in line with established claims philosophy
  • Provide proactive customer support by keeping claimants updated on the progress of claim assessment. Manage stakeholder expectations to support seamless customer experience
  • Build rapport with claimants over the phone, establishing disability level and achieve appropriate NPS customer engagement score
  • Assess claims against policy contracts and explain complex decisions in writing with logical and clear rationale
  • Instruct third parties to provide claim assessment support as necessary and use cost-effective providers in line with analysis
  • Manage incoming work items in line with service level agreements, department objectives and practices
  • Manage claims within risk and governance frameworks such as the Life Insurance Code of Practice
  • Recognize, categorize and prioritize work requiring minimal intervention
  • Ensure all written communication is timely, accurate and professional
  • Request evidence of income to calculate usual earnings for employed and self-employed individuals. Calculate benefit payable against policy calculation method
  • Create and release claim payments in line with delegated authority
  • Contribute to team through special projects when required
  • Able to adapt to change and champion best practices within the Claims and Operations team
