As a Construction Estimator - Bid Support Specialist with PCL Constructors Pacific Rim PTY Ltd., you will play a crucial role in supporting our estimators in preparing bids and proposals. Your primary responsibility will be to complete quantity, material, and labor takeoffs from project documents, applying material unit prices or allowances and base labor productivities to the estimate.
Key Responsibilities- Supports estimators in bid preparation and proposal development.
- Completes accurate and timely quantity, material, and labor takeoffs from project documents.
- Applies material unit prices or allowances and base labor productivities to the estimate.
- Assists with bid document control and documentation, organizing and archiving all relevant information for successful transfer to the project team.
- Supports lead bid runners with bid-day assignments.
- Solicits competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers.
- Maintains strong relationships with stakeholders, including lead estimators, lead bid runners, subtrade partners, and suppliers.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline or trade experience/equivalent.
- Relevant experience in a construction environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the construction industry and key principles involved in bid preparation.
- Proficient in using takeoff systems.
- Able to communicate effectively with tradespeople and solicit quotations comfortably.
- Able to establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders, including soliciting subtrade partners and suppliers.
- Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 AUD, depending on qualifications and experience. PCL Constructors Pacific Rim PTY Ltd. offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement savings plan.
