About the Role
We are seeking a Tax Professional with global expertise to join our team in Australia. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will provide tax services in Australia and the wider APAC region.
Job Summary
This role is based at the RPS office in Fortitude Valley, with full flexibility to work a mix of office and home. You will be responsible for:
- Preparation/Review of annual tax returns using internal resources and external service providers.
- Preparation of withholding taxes and FBT returns, as well as BAS returns when required.
- Preparation of tax reporting in the region for Group Finance and local finance teams.
- Overseeing tax compliance requirements on projects awarded.
- Local file A, B, and assisting the APAC Tax Director with local transfer pricing documentation.
- SUPPORT AND IMPLEMENT GLOBAL TAX INITIATIVES WHERE APPROPRIATE.
- Maintaining and developing excellent tax technical knowledge as a subject matter expert on Australian tax issues.
- Assisting the APAC Tax Director with Regional & ATO Tax Reviews or audits.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have 5+ years corporate tax experience in a multi-national environment. Your skills and qualifications include:
- A professional qualification with a proven track record of success operating at a similar level within a global reputable company or large accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and exposure to international tax rules.
- Good understanding of and experience with tax accounting for a global organisation.
- Excellent project management skills and an ability to apply a pragmatic and efficient approach to handling complex assignments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments.
- Excellent people skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management.
- Self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
