Tax Professional with Global Perspective

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Professional with a global perspective to join our team at RPS Group. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for providing tax services in Australia and the wider APAC region, including direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, tax governance, and risk management.

Reporting to the APAC Tax Director, you will work closely with other teams to ensure tax compliance deadlines are met across the region. This role is based in Fortitude Valley, offering a flexible hybrid workplace with full flexibility to work from home or office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and review of annual tax returns using internal resources and external service providers.
  • Preparation of withholding taxes and FBT returns, as well as BAS returns as required.
  • Preparation of tax reporting in the region for both Group Finance and local finance teams.
  • Oversee and prepare Tax Consolidated Group PAYGI Lodgements.
  • Set up tax compliance requirements on projects awarded.
  • Local file A, B, and assist the APAC Tax Director with local transfer pricing documentation.
  • Support and implement global tax initiatives where appropriate.
  • Maintain and develop excellent tax technical knowledge and serve as a subject matter expert on Australian tax issues.
  • Assist the APAC Tax Director with regional and ATO tax reviews or audits.
Requirements
  • A professional qualification with 5+ years of corporate tax experience in a multinational environment.
  • A proven track record of success operating at a similar level within a global reputable company or large accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and exposure to international tax rules.
  • Good understanding of and experience with tax accounting for a global organisation.
  • Excellent project management skills and an ability to apply a pragmatic and efficient approach to handling complex assignments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail and accountability in analytical assessments.
  • Excellent people skills, including ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with all levels of management.
  • A self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • The ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
