Job Description:The role of the Logistics Scheduler is a vital position within our organisation, responsible for ensuring efficient day-to-day operations.
Scheduling deliveries of bulk fuels from terminal to customer and company delivery sites is a key responsibility, using available fleet resources based at the depot. Effective load maximisation, route planning and driver scheduling are essential in minimising operating costs.
Prompts database entries of scheduled deliveries and details into the Lowes system in accordance with NHVR requirements. Regular liaison and communication with drivers, customers, and transport sub-contractors daily is also required.
Supporting depot operations includes trip processing and dispatch activities. Monitoring fuel tank levels across service areas remotely is another crucial task. Meeting customer service level expectations while managing truck servicing and maintenance schedules is a core requirement.
A good understanding of Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) and national heavy vehicle regulations is mandatory. Adaptability under pressure and making optimal logistic decisions are essential skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and problem solve are key competencies.
- Scheduling experience an advantage but not necessary, as on-the-job training will be provided.
- Familiarity with BFM and NHVR regulatory requirements.
- Capable of working unsupervised and managing time effectively.
- Strong logistics background and operational experience preferred.
