Overview

Back of House Operations Coordinator role at City of Newcastle, Australia. This is a fixed-term, full-time position for 14 months, commencing in November. You will lead a back of house (Commissionaires) team to ensure exceptional customer experiences, venue presentation, security, and operational support across City Venues' function spaces, including City Hall, Fort Scratchley and 12 Stewart Ave.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team in venue operations and delivery
  • Coordinate arrival and departure logistics, staffing, security and training
  • Support event planning, readiness and continuous improvement while balancing customer service with operational efficiency, compliance and risk management
  • Ensure safety standards, including accessibility requirements, are upheld
Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience in venue operations or a similar operations coordination role preferred
  • Ability to lead a team and work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong focus on customer service, safety and compliance
  • Commitment to inclusion and accessibility in events and venues
