Active Support Role for Person with Complex Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to provide active support to an individual with complex needs in our group home. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging the service user, providing assistance with daily activities, and participating in community access.

The role requires experience in care managing behaviours of concern and manual handling. Shifts may commence as early as 6:30 am and end as late as 10:30 pm, including ten (10) sleepover shifts per month. A roster is provided.

This opportunity aligns with our organisation's mission to empower people with disability to live life on their own terms. As a support worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the service user to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing quality direct support to the service user
  • Increasing the service user's skills through independence, personal growth, and development
  • Implementing development programs and identifying learning opportunities

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Certification IV in Disability or related field
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current Driver's Licence and ability to drive a 9-seater bus
  • NDIS workers screening check
