About this Opportunity

This is a fulfilling role for a passionate Dementia professional to join our team on a permanent full-time basis at our Miranda site. The role will provide support to staff across all levels to learn, develop and implement best practice in relation to dementia care by embedding our Model of care and Case management framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dementia-specific expert advisory services within our services, through participation in regular clinical review meetings and on-the-ground support across all cottages for the site allocated.
  • Build staff capacity through communication, education, mentoring and coaching in practice; this can include spending time with the team on the ground, conducting case study discussions and reviewing documentations.
  • Plan engagement with individuals and teams to achieve agreed practice development objectives and quality improvements.
  • Work on projects and assignments as required and in line with areas of skill, expertise and knowledge.
  • Participate, contribute and learn as part of the Dementia Centre team in team meetings, professional supervision and team activities.
  • Utilise agreed processes to communicate, monitor and manage work delegations and projects including evaluation and reporting.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
  • Demonstrated skills in teaching, mentoring and coaching others.
  • Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
  • A high level of negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with excellent administration skills.
  • A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel.
  • Empathy and patience.
  • Relevant qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health highly desirable.
