Maternal Care Coordinator

Job Description:

The Maternal Care Coordinator will provide comprehensive midwifery care to women throughout their pregnancy journey, ensuring optimal maternal and newborn outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate high-quality midwifery care to families within scope of practice, informed by clinical need and supported by healthcare professionals.
  • Deliver patient education and promote healthy behaviors to optimize maternal and newborn outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a cross-cultural environment to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrate awareness of and sensitivity to cultural differences, and knowledge of issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Nurse and Midwife with AHPRA.
  • A minimum of three years' clinical experience, including high-level skills in patient education.
  • Experience working in antenatal and postnatal care outside of the acute setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and prioritize tasks to deliver outcomes.
