Leadership Role: Special Education

We are seeking a leader who can effectively manage the needs of our students with autism, moderate intellectual disability, and complex communication needs, while also collaborating with our inclusive team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a support unit and managing the role of Assistant Principal and exemplary classroom teacher
  • Strengthening collaborative practice to build staff capabilities and enhance student learning and wellbeing outcomes
  • Collaborating with parents, carers, learning and support teams, health providers, and external stakeholders
  • Fostering a school-wide culture and practice of inclusion and equity

We require someone with:

  • Successful teaching experience and the capacity to drive improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare, with the ability to design quality, inclusive teaching programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
