Deputy Principal Special Education Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Principal to join our school community. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-quality education and care for students with special needs.

**About Our School**

Our school is a specialist centre that caters to students with emotional disturbance and/or behaviour disorder, as well as additional learning needs/diagnosis such as autism and/or mild intellectual disability. We have a strong focus on life skills curriculum programs and collaborate closely with mainstream schools, community organizations, and local Aboriginal education groups.

**Key Responsibilities**

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Leading and managing a team of educators to deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs
  2. Developing and implementing inclusive teaching and learning strategies to support student engagement and achievement
  3. Fostering positive relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective collaboration and communication

**Requirements for Success**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Proven experience in teaching and leading special education programs
  2. Ability to develop and implement data-driven instructional strategies to improve student outcomes
  3. Highly developed interpersonal and management skills to build strong relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies

  1. Successful teaching experience, particularly in special education
  2. Knowledge of curriculum and student welfare principles
