A career opportunity exists for an experienced Communications Team Leader to join a dynamic and supportive team in a vibrant local community.

Job Description

This role is responsible for providing clear and effective communications, building positive stakeholder relationships and supporting the Council by enhancing and protecting the public image.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with stakeholders effectively
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues, councillors and external partners
  • Enhance and protect the public image of the Council
Requirements:
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated capability and experience (5 years +) in a relevant role
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills or ability to acquire these skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of local government's role, composition and responsibilities
  • Proven ability to cope with high volume workloads in a complex environment
  • Proven professionalism and discretion in dealing with confidential or sensitive information
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in Local Government
