The RoleWe are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join our HR and Payroll team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees. Your duties will include managing various payroll functions, providing support for fleet administration tasks, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Process end-to-end payroll for approximately 460 monthly and fortnightly pay runs, including new hires, terminations, and end-of-year return submissions.
- Monitor the payroll inbox, respond to queries, and calculate termination and redundancy payments.
- Run HR reports, update the payroll system with changes, and upload and reconcile board reports.
- Collaborate with accounts for end-of-month costing queries, reconcile monthly and year-to-date Single Touch Payroll and payroll figures, and submit monthly payroll tax calculations and annual reconciliation.
- Complete the annual workers' compensation declaration and handle motor vehicle administration tasks, including setting up new drivers, responding to queries, and approving fleet invoices and novated leases.
- Perform quarterly superannuation calculations and payments, assist with audits, and resolve technical issues with the payroll system.
- Proven experience with Ascender/Dayforce payroll software is essential.
- At least 5+ years of payroll experience.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in fleet administration is a plus but not required.
