Employment Law and Industrial Relations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment Law and Industrial Relations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in employment law, industrial relations, and compliance matters.

The role requires the ability to provide clear and strategic advice on employment and industrial relations matters, including litigation, industrial instrument interpretation, disciplinary matters, and disputes. Experience with payroll systems and compliance, preferably including Kronos, is also highly regarded.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years post-admission experience as a qualified lawyer, with a strong understanding of legal principles and judicial procedures. Commercial mindset with experience in change management and exceptional communication skills are essential for success in this role.

In addition to providing expert advice, the specialist will be responsible for partnering with leaders across the organization to interpret legislation and industrial instruments, mitigate risk, and find commercially viable, compliant solutions to complex workforce challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic advice on employment and industrial relations matters
  • Support the internal implementation of new employment and industrial relations legislation
  • Ensure legally compliant enterprise practices
  • Proactively identify, advise on, and manage compliance risks
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years post-admission experience as a qualified lawyer
  • Strong knowledge of employment and industrial relations law, including operation of awards and enterprise agreements
  • Demonstrable understanding of legal principles and judicial procedures
  • Commercial mindset with experience in change management
  • Experience with payroll systems and compliance, preferably including Kronos
