The Role
As a Chapter Lead within the Defence Digital Group, you will take on a pivotal leadership position, bringing extensive expertise in a technical field while guiding and mentoring teams. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee a group of Chapter Members who will be integrated into various project teams, yet report directly to you as their line manager. This role embodies a "player/coach" dynamic, where approximately one-third of your time will be dedicated to project delivery, while the remaining two-thirds will focus on managing and nurturing the professional growth of Chapter Members.
Through your specialized knowledge and dedication to professional development, you will cultivate exceptional technical skills within your Chapter and advocate for innovative working methodologies. You will continuously enhance your own expertise, staying abreast of the latest advancements in your field, and empower others to disseminate knowledge throughout the organization.

Our Team
The Defence Digital Group (DDG) is dedicated to generating and sustaining digital capabilities to protect Australia and its national interests. Our vision is to establish a secure, integrated, and scalable information and communications environment capable of achieving success in the digital era. Within DDG, the Military Systems and Enterprise Systems Divisions are responsible for delivering and enhancing ICT capabilities that align with Defence's requirements, ensuring readiness for success in the digital landscape. The Chapter Lead – Business Analysis will collaborate with fellow Chapter Leads in the Program Management Office Branch to deliver capabilities within the Military and Enterprise Systems Divisions. The Program Management Office enhances productivity by aligning resources with the appropriate skills for the right tasks at the right time, continuously improving our processes to ensure outcomes are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to specifications. To excel in this role, you should ideally possess:
Demonstrated experience in leading business analysis initiatives. A proven history of coaching and developing individuals and teams to enhance their professional and technical capabilities. A robust technical background as a business analyst, with experience in creating or refining frameworks, procedures, and toolsets. The ability to drive outcomes and execute complex delivery initiatives. Advanced communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, including managing competing priorities and initiatives. Experience in resource planning and allocation. A passion for learning and intellectual curiosity regarding new professional and technical skills. Knowledge of agile methodologies and their application in the workplace.
