Lead Business Analyst

The Role
As a Chapter Lead within the Defence Digital Group, you will assume a pivotal leadership position, possessing extensive expertise in a technical field while also excelling in team coordination and mentorship. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee a team of Chapter Members who are integrated into various project teams, while reporting directly to you as their line manager. This role embodies a 'player/coach' dynamic, where approximately one-third of your time will be dedicated to project delivery, and the remaining two-thirds will focus on managing and nurturing the professional growth of Chapter Members.
Through your specialized knowledge and dedication to professional development, you will cultivate exceptional technical skills within your Chapter and advocate for innovative methodologies. You will also be committed to enhancing your own expertise, ensuring that you bring the latest insights to your work, and empowering others to disseminate knowledge throughout the organization.

The Defence Digital Group (DDG) is dedicated to generating and sustaining digital capabilities to protect Australia and its national interests. Our vision is to establish a secure, integrated, and scalable information and communications environment capable of achieving success in the digital era. Within DDG, the Military Systems and Enterprise Systems Divisions focus on delivering and enhancing ICT capabilities that align with Defence's requirements, ensuring readiness for operations in the digital age. The Chapter Lead – Business Analysis will collaborate with other Chapter Leads in the Program Management Office Branch to enhance capabilities within the Military and Enterprise Systems Divisions. The Program Management Office aims to boost productivity by aligning resources with the appropriate skills for the right tasks at the right time, while continuously refining our processes to ensure consistent, timely, and budget-compliant outcomes. To excel in this role, you should ideally possess:
Demonstrated experience in leading business analysis initiatives. A proven history of coaching and developing individuals and teams to enhance their professional and technical competencies. A robust technical background as a business analyst, with experience in creating or refining frameworks, procedures, and toolsets. The capability to drive outcomes and execute complex delivery initiatives. Advanced communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and initiatives. Experience in resource planning and allocation. A strong intellectual curiosity and a passion for acquiring new professional and technical skills. Knowledge of agile methodologies and their application in the workplace.
