Weir is a world leading engineering business dedicated to making mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable. As a Director of Virtual Test Strategy and Operations, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our organization.

About the Role

The successful candidate will own the virtual and physical test strategy, ensuring equipment meets current and future capabilities and requirements across the business. This includes increasing our organisational virtual test capability to reduce design-develop time to market.

You will be responsible for collaborating with other key functions, such as Operations, Manufacturing and Product Development, to educate, mentor and coach teams on new techniques and testing methods. Your goal will be to develop a world class engineering function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive virtual test strategy to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Lead global teams to achieve safety, quality, productivity and prevention goals.
  • Maintain key vendor relationships, including contract review and management.
  • Create annual budgets and manage resources effectively.
  • Ensure equipment and processes are safe, efficient and aligned with business objectives.
  • Demonstrate commitment to our zero harm behaviors and support development of a world class safety culture.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in managing global teams.
  • Extensive experience in testing, development and virtual testing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge in running relevant test centres globally.
  • Experience in manufacturing methodologies and chartered status or professional engineering equivalent is desirable.
