Medical Coding Audit Lead

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, clinical coding expertise, and the ability to work with various stakeholders.

The Medical Coding Audit Lead will be responsible for coordinating audit team responses to onsite and remote audits. They will also align audit work programs with internal coding initiatives to improve accuracy.

The lead will provide guidance to various workgroups on coding audit matters and establish positive working relationships with HIM teams, hospital coders, and insurer audit teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead coding teams with integrity and commitment to accuracy
  • Utilize clinical coding expertise to coordinate audit team responses
  • Align audit work programs with internal coding initiatives
  • Provide guidance to various workgroups on coding audit matters
  • Establish positive working relationships with HIM teams, hospital coders, and insurer audit teams
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV in Clinical Classification or equivalent qualification
  • Computer literacy with experience in patient administration software and Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent communication skills aligned with successful articulation of audit results
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Audit experience in hospitals
  • Understanding of billing processes
  • Ability to analyze and report large datasets
