Job Title: Senior Child and Family Wellbeing Practitioner

TeamHEALTH is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Child and Family Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team in the Katherine region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality services to children, young people, and families, with a focus on early intervention, risk assessment, and risk minimization.

About the Role

This is a drive-in, drive-out opportunity from Darwin to Katherine for four days per week. You will work closely with the Youth and Family Services Manager at Kalano to deliver timely and culturally sensitive services to participants referred to the CaFIS Program. You will also have the opportunity to develop and deliver mental health education sessions for the CaFIS team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality services to children, young people, and families, with a focus on early intervention, risk assessment, and risk minimization.
  • Work closely with the Youth and Family Services Manager at Kalano to deliver timely and culturally sensitive services to participants referred to the CaFIS Program.
  • Develop and deliver mental health education sessions for the CaFIS team members.
  • Build relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including participants, community members, and other services.
  • Lead, coach, and develop staff to ensure they perform and reach their full potential.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or less formal qualifications with substantial experience in a related area.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, and families.
  • Demonstrated experience and application of the strength-based approach and competence in a range of interventions relevant to children and young people, conducting risk and needs assessments, and implementing action plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including participants, community members, and other services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop staff to ensure they perform and reach their full potential.
