Manager of Child and Family Wellbeing – Children's Ground

Position Overview:
This role is pivotal in fostering social and emotional health among First Nations children and their families. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of innovative early intervention strategies aimed at enhancing mental health outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary up to $107,717, commensurate with experience.
- Relocation assistance available, up to $5,500.
- Full-time employment opportunity based in Darwin.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a variety of early intervention and prevention initiatives that support positive mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Deliver culturally safe and responsive interventions tailored to the mental health needs of First Nations children and their families.
- Establish a supportive environment within Children's Ground that integrates First Nations wellbeing practices and knowledge.
- Contribute to the overarching Wellbeing strategy aimed at enhancing the social and emotional health of staff.
- Engage with families in local First Nation communities and provide outreach support as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- This position is designated for a First Nations individual.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, or equivalent experience of at least three years.
- Proven track record in promoting social and emotional health and wellbeing.
- Experience working within First Nations communities, with a strong understanding of the impacts of colonization and intergenerational trauma.
- Familiarity with a variety of interventions and strategies that enhance mental health and emotional wellbeing.
- Experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of preventative and early intervention therapeutic programs.
- Excellent relationship-building, networking, and communication skills.
- Possession of a current driver's license, OCHRE Card, and National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain these credentials.
Additional Information:
Relocation support and financial assistance for clinical education may be available for health professionals moving to or within the Northern Territory.
