This research project aims to elucidate the mechanisms of potassium channel conduction, inactivation, and modulation through advanced molecular dynamics simulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying potassium ion channel function and modulation using computational methods.
- Analyze the behavior of potassium channels, including BK, MthK, and KcsA, utilizing molecular dynamics simulations.
- Collaborate with researchers in cryo EM and electrophysiology to advance our understanding of ion channel function.
The expected outcome is a comprehensive description of the fundamental mechanisms governing ion channel function and their response to physiological and pharmacological stimuli.
Qualifications and Skills:- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields.
- Excellent programming skills in Python or C++.
- Proficiency in molecular dynamics simulations and data analysis.
- Familiarity with cryo EM and electrophysiology techniques.
