First Peoples Disability Network Australia (FPDN) is an organisation of and for Australia's First Peoples, their families, and communities. Governed by First Peoples with lived experience of disability, we proactively engage with communities around Australia and individuals internationally, advocating for the recognition, respect, protection, and fulfilment of their human rights.

Focusing on increasing our engagements with communities across Australia to ensure First Nations people with disability know their disability rights and have access to a community-controlled sector that is culturally safe, inclusive, and disability rights informed.

The Role: National Learning Design Manager

The National Learning Design Manager works in conjunction with the National Training and Engagement Manager, designing and developing culturally respectful and relevant resources and learning/training packages. This role supports the community-controlled disability sector in understanding the First Peoples disability perspective within their organisations, providing supports and services to the community and increasing the capacity of the communities in their understanding of people living with disabilities.

Key responsibilities include leading the design and development of new face-to-face learning packages and online blended learning content, delivering and coordinating the training of members of the FPDN Training and Engagement team, and overseeing modifications to the learning packages based on structured feedback from stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need tertiary qualifications in education and learning or experience in developing and delivering culturally accessible education and learning/training course materials. You should possess a proven ability to successfully engage internal and external stakeholders, including First Nations community members, organisations, and leaders, alongside a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the First Nations disability sector and the related challenges in accessing support.

You will also require experience in developing and producing accessible resources, tools, or documents (e.g., Easy Reads), a commitment to the self-determination of First Nations peoples with disability, and an understanding of and the ability to work within a human rights framework.

Average annual salary: $80,000 - $110,000 AUD.
