
Safe Workplace Advocate

As an Occupational Health Specialist, you will support the implementation and ongoing improvement of workplace health and safety systems. You will be responsible for promoting safety awareness and effective communication across departments.
- Support and maintain a comprehensive WHS Management System.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, inspections, and audits to ensure a safe working environment.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills and equipment checks.
- Deliver OHS inductions, training sessions, toolbox talks, and committee meetings to promote a culture of safety.
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and tracking of corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, registers, and reports.
This role requires a strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills.
Key QualificationsAboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity with a strong connection to community.
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (Diploma preferred).
At least 2 years of experience in an OHS support role.
Knowledge of OHS legislation, compliance, and best practice.
Experience with risk management, incident reporting, and safety systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and record-keeping systems.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach.
A current Driver's Licence. A Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
