Family Violence Caseworker Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic lawyer to join our team as a Family Violence Caseworker. In this role, you will be responsible for providing trauma-informed legal assistance to women experiencing or at risk of family violence across various outreach sites.

Our Family Violence Caseworker will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Family Violence Advocates, Maternal Child Health Nurses, and Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, to deliver holistic support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal assistance in family violence and related family law matters at outreach sites.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to offer comprehensive support services.
  • Contribute to community legal education and strengthen relationships with service partners to support early intervention and culturally safe service delivery.
Qualifications
  • Must hold an unrestricted employee practising certificate in Victoria.
  • Experience in family violence, family law, and related legal areas is essential.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in teams are necessary.
  • Experience working with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and culturally and linguistically diverse groups, is desirable.
