Job Title

Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of maintenance and construction tasks, including road maintenance, structures and concrete work;
  • Ensure equipment operation is consistent with manufacturer's specifications;
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working order;
  • Install and maintain traffic signs and markings;
  • Accurately record work completed, including quantities, chainages and work categories;
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment;
  • Participate as a member of the team undertaking various duties as required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:

Work is primarily performed outdoors, exposed to changing weather conditions. The position requires the ability to work outdoors in hot and humid climates and perform manual labor tasks that require full range of human movement.

Accountabilities:
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures and legislation; and support the organization's overall goals and objectives;
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and take reasonable care for own health and safety while at work.
Requirements:
  • Current 'MC' Class Driver's Licence;
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, such as Road Trains/Side Tippers and Float/Low Loaders;
  • Current General Construction Induction Card;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of construction and maintenance techniques and approaches;
  • Sufficient skills to service and maintain equipment in good condition.
