Operations Fleet Supervisor

Job Overview
The Fleet and Workshop Operations Manager will be responsible for the efficient supervision and maintenance of our plant and equipment fleet, as well as workshop facilities. This role will provide high-level support to our Engineering Services department and other operational teams, while meeting our fleet utilization goals.
Fleet and Workshop Key Responsibilities:- Manage our fleet maintenance, workshop facilities, and associated assets.
- Prioritize, schedule, and perform repairs and maintenance with minimal delay.
- Maintain up-to-date records, logbooks, manuals, and service logs.
- Prepare written reports on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
- Conduct regular inspections of the Airport Refuelling facility.
- Report defects and ensure accurate fuel testing and reporting.
- Coordinate fuel ordering/deliveries and annual maintenance and inspections.
- Assign tasks, supervise, and provide direction to staff.
- Implement HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, develop training plans, and support apprentices towards formal qualifications.
- Perform physical activities aligned to key responsibilities and duties.
- May require attendance for out-of-hours requests including weekend airport inspections.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Qualified Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic and/or Diesel Fitter and/or other mechanical trade.
- Current General Construction Induction Card.
- Current Queensland MR Class Driver's Licence.
- Experience in applying effective human resource management practices.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a similar workshop supervisory role.
- Experience in local government governance and procurement.
