
Fleet and Maintenance Supervisor

This is a challenging role that requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills to manage the maintenance of Council's fleet and workshop facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment, as well as overseeing the maintenance schedule, repairs and budgeting.
Key responsibilities include managing staff and apprentices, implementing administrative procedures, conducting inspections and monitoring safety protocols.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy earthmoving mechanics, diesel fitting or other mechanical trades, with experience in supervising staff and maintaining budgets.
A current MR Class Driver's Licence and General Construction Induction Card are also essential requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Qualified Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic and/or Diesel Fitter and/or other mechanical trade;
- Current General Construction Induction Card;
- Current Queensland MR Class Driver's Licence;
- Experience in applying effective human resource management practices;
- Experience supervising mechanical staff and apprentices within budgetary constraints;
- Current Tetanus, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B immunisations (or willingness to obtain);
- Significant experience in maintenance and repair of a diverse range of vehicles and plant;
- Qualifications and experience in air conditioner servicing and auto electrical repairs;
- Sound knowledge of purchasing and budgeting procedures;
- Sound knowledge of appropriate computer applications.
