Job Title: Senior Safety Advisor

**About the Role:**

We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join our team at Arnold Group. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Implement and Maintain Safety Programs:** Develop and implement effective safety programs that meet key targets and drive a culture of safety within our organization.
  • **Collaborate with Teams:** Work closely with our teams to boost safety engagement and compliance, ensuring that all employees are aware of and adhere to WHS policies and procedures.
  • **Develop Safety Initiatives:** Design and implement safety initiatives that empower employees to take ownership of their safety and well-being, promoting a culture of responsibility and accountability.
  • **Investigate Incidents:** Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • **Mentor and Train:** Mentor and train Health and Safety Representatives and provide internal training to ensure that all employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and effectively.
  • **Risk Management:** Identify and manage risks effectively, ensuring that our organization is compliant with all relevant WHS laws and regulations.
  • **Contribute to Safety Management System:** Contribute to the development and maintenance of our safety management system, ensuring that it is effective and aligned with our organization's goals and objectives.
  • **Support Strategic Planning:** Support strategic planning with a focus on safety, ensuring that our organization's safety goals and objectives are aligned with our overall business strategy.
  • **Build a Strong Safety Culture:** Build a strong safety culture within our organization, promoting a culture of safety and well-being that is embedded in our values and practices.
  • **Deliver Excellent Customer Service:** Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service and support.

Requirements:

  • **Experience:** Solid experience in high-risk environments with a track record of improving safety.
  • **Qualifications:** Min. Cert IV in WHS or related qualification.
  • **Knowledge:** At least 3 years in Health and Safety, with strong knowledge of QLD WHS laws.
  • **Skills:** Skilled in incident investigations and risk assessments, with great communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • **Technical Skills:** Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
  • **Driver's Licence:** QLD C class provisional driver's licence.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • **Experience in Local Government:** Experience in local government or specific safety certifications.
