About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Mental Health Clinician to join our team at the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia. As a key member of our Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, you will play a vital role in providing drought and remote wellness services to regional patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive counselling and support services to individuals and communities affected by drought and remote living.
  • Develop and implement education and engagement programs to build community capacity and promote mental health and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and community organizations to provide integrated care and support services.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to address the mental health needs of clients.
  • Provide training and education to healthcare professionals and community members on mental health and wellbeing topics.
Requirements
  • Registration with AHPRA or membership of the AASW.
  • Qualification in Psychology, Social Work (Accredited with AASW), Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing (Suitable for Mental Health credentialing).
  • Post-graduate experience in a relevant clinical field.
  • Demonstrated experience in brief interventions, and therapeutic counselling with patients across the lifespan.
  • Demonstrated experience and respectful understanding of cultural diversity including traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander views of health and wellness.
  • Working with Children- Blue Card (Social Workers Only).
