Our client, a leading provider of safety solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join their team in a Regional Queensland setting. This role is crucial in fostering a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive Safety and Wellness WHS Plan, aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety engagement and compliance, driving a culture of safety excellence.
  3. Design and deliver safety programs that empower employees to take ownership of their safety and well-being.
  4. Conduct thorough incident investigations, identifying root causes and driving timely corrective actions.
  5. Mentor and train Health and Safety Representatives, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage safety risks.
  6. Identify and mitigate hazards, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  7. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the safety management system, ensuring it remains effective and efficient.
  8. Support strategic planning, with a focus on safety, to drive business growth and success.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including employees, management, and external partners.
  10. Provide guidance and support to managers, empowering them to take ownership of safety in their areas of responsibility.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience in high-risk environments, with a track record of improving safety outcomes.
  2. Minimum Cert IV in WHS or related qualification.
  3. At least 3 years of experience in Health and Safety, with strong knowledge of QLD WHS laws and regulations.
  4. Skilled in incident investigations, risk assessments, and safety program development.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
  7. QLD C class provisional driver's licence.
Desirable Qualifications
  1. Experience in local government or specific safety certifications.
