Job Title: Lecturer, Academic Practice

Job Summary:

The Centre for Learning and Teaching at Edith Cowan University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced academic leader to join our team as a Lecturer, Academic Practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and innovative individual to contribute to the development of excellence in curriculum, assessment, and teaching at ECU.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and facilitation of professional learning and educational recognition programs to support capability building, recognition, and reward for teaching excellence and scholarship at ECU.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Teaching Quality, to implement professional learning programs and educational recognition and reward programs to support evidence-informed, scholarly curriculum, assessment, and teaching practices.
  • Coordinate and support learning and teaching fellowships and awards, working closely with the Teaching Quality team and staff stakeholder groups to develop and deliver systems, processes, and support frameworks for these activities.

Requirements:

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. Learning Sciences, Education, Instructional Design) or demonstrated equivalence (such as scholarly publication and/or strategic leadership with systemic impact).
  • Evidence of academic leadership and expertise in university teaching, curriculum design, and pedagogy.
  • Expert knowledge and skill in the conceptualisation, design, and delivery of academic development services, resources, and programs.
  • Demonstrated capacity to problem-solve in fast-moving, often changing, and demanding situations, to work quickly to develop sophisticated and effective recommendations and plans, and to manage complexity with elegant solutions.
  • Highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to engage collegially and effectively with colleagues at all levels of the University, academic and professional, and the ability to negotiate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt a scholarly and evidence-based approach to all areas of practice.

  • A competitive remuneration package of $110,065 to $130,045 (ALEVB) pa plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
