OVERVIEW
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and skilled professional to contribute to the School of Arts and Humanities. We are seeking a Senior Officer for Student Engagement to enhance our expanding work-integrated learning initiatives across various disciplines.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will primarily focus on facilitating the School's work-integrated learning program, particularly in managing student placements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing student mandatory checks and placement agreements.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student placements.
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication.
  • Identifying and resolving issues in collaboration with academic staff and senior colleagues.
  • Assisting with general administrative tasks related to contracts, human resources, and financial processes.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
The successful applicant will be a proactive, solution-oriented individual who excels in a dynamic and multifaceted environment. You will possess:

  • Experience in managing student placement programs within higher education.
  • Familiarity with the SONIA student placement management system.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in data management and written communication.
  • The ability to support academic staff in achieving their objectives.

You will be part of a supportive Operations Team, reporting to the Team Leader of Teaching and Research Services. Daily interactions will involve collaboration with academic and professional colleagues, as well as regular engagement with students and key external partners.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of student placement management, including securing placements and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Strong collaborative skills to support students and colleagues effectively.
  • High-level communication abilities, with proficiency in consultation and negotiation.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to identify and creatively resolve issues.
  • Independence in managing priorities and deadlines.
  • Desirable experience with the SONIA system.
