The University Librarian will play a crucial role in supporting, advancing, and promoting high-quality, innovative learning and teaching, and cutting-edge discoveries in research at Edith Cowan University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic vision for the university's libraries, aligning with the institution's goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and management to the library team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with academic staff, students, and other stakeholders to ensure the libraries meet the evolving needs of the university community.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and services to deliver efficient and effective library operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in library services, and implement innovative solutions to enhance the user experience.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of strategic leadership and management in an education environment, with a strong understanding of academic and research libraries.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to influence, inspire, and think creatively.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, including academic staff, students, and external partners.
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in budget management, resource allocation, and service delivery.
