About the Role

At Urban Utilities, we are seeking an experienced Chief Communications Strategist to lead our brand and communications efforts. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans that enhance our reputation and promote our vision for a sustainable water future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of our brand and marketing strategy, incorporating internal and external communications, digital media, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with Executive Leaders to build effective relationships and drive business outcomes through communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and implement crisis management communication strategies to mitigate risks and maintain public trust.
  • Oversee corporate communications and produce high-quality publications and reports that reflect our values and mission.
  • Leverage your expertise in project management, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance to navigate complex environments and achieve business objectives.

About You

We are looking for a senior communications leader with a proven track record in developing and executing strategic communications plans. Ideally, you have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications, Public Affairs, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Senior leadership experience in communications, marketing, or a related field within the water or utilities sector, public sector, or critical services.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, and manage complex projects.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a passion for driving business outcomes through effective communication.
