Competitive hourly rate: $91.93 plus super.

About the Role

This role will provide expert financial advice and support to senior leadership, ensuring the financial health and operational capability of the organization. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader with advanced knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and public sector financial management standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Consolidate financial data into annual financial statements while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Systems and Processes: Manage systems and processes to maintain accuracy and integrity of financial data and records.
  • Financial Advice and Analysis: Provide expert advice on accounting standards, relevant policies, and taxation issues to executive management and finance staff.
  • Policy Development: Develop and maintain the organization's Financial Management Practice Manual and financial delegation instruments.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience leading a finance team in a complex organization
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, public sector financial management standards, and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or business and be eligible for membership to a professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or CA ANZ.
