About the Role

This hands-on position involves strategic leadership as you contribute to the centralisation of shared services within MSF Sugar, a local Cairns company that is considered a leader in its industry. As Executive Director of Financial Operations, you will motivate and guide a multidisciplinary team of nine, fostering a professional, positive, and business-focused environment.

The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and offers an exceptional opportunity to make a direct impact on company-wide initiatives. You'll lead financial reporting, including preparation of annual statutory accounts, oversee internal and external audits, manage tax-related compliance requirements, and liaise with relevant authorities. Additionally, you will prepare consolidated income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows for executive reporting, and support enhancements in company management reporting and budgeting.

You will work closely with executive leadership to drive business growth and contribute to the success of MSF Sugar. This influential role requires strong familiarity with compliance: Accounting Standards, Corporations Act, and Taxation Act. Experience with SAP Hana and Cognos is highly regarded, and previous experience in agriculture or manufacturing sectors is preferred.

Estimated Annual Salary: AU$180,000 - AU$220,000

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Tertiary qualifications and CA or CPA accreditation.
  • Experience with SAP Hana and Cognos (highly regarded).
  • Previous experience in agriculture or manufacturing sectors preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with compliance: Accounting Standards, Corporations Act, and Taxation Act.
