About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bushfire Management Specialist to join our Environment and Sustainability team at City of Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our community by providing high-level technical advice and guidance on bushfire management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to develop, review, and implement policies, strategies, and plans to achieve best practice bushfire management outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve council's broader legislative requirements.
  • Contribute to the implementation of updates to Bush Fire Prone Land mapping and report on Council Bushfire management activities.
