About the Role

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team of experts in sustainable water infrastructure design and management. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement hydrological and hydraulic flood models to inform water management strategies.
  • Design and optimize water balance models for complex systems, ensuring efficient and sustainable water use.
  • Contribute to the development of technical proposals and reports, highlighting the benefits of our sustainable water solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing your expertise and knowledge to support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated water management projects, including flood impact assessments and flood risk management plans.
  • Work on climate change adaptation, water optimization, and resilience-related projects, applying your technical expertise to drive sustainable outcomes.
  • Coordinate and verify designs, ensuring seamless integration with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Help grow and develop our team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Embrace and promote a leading digital work environment and delivery culture, driving efficiency and excellence in all aspects of our work.
  • Work closely with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity and quality of our designs.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field such as civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with modeling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, or RAFTS, with a strong understanding of hydrological and hydraulic principles.
  • Programming skills, including proficiency in Python, to support data analysis and modeling.
  • Water balance program experience, such as GoldSim, to optimize water use and management.
  • GIS experience, including proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo, to support spatial analysis and mapping.
  • Understanding of relevant Australian standards, regulations, and legislation, including the ARR2019 guidelines.
  • Experience working on various aspects of the project lifecycle, from tendering and concept design to construction.
  • Demonstrated self-management and ability to work autonomously, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry trends, technologies, and best practices, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
